WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?

Christmas day! John, Marla and I are full of Christmas spirit! We head to the Hard Rock Cafe in Daytona Beach for a Christmas meal! It's dog friendly too! We are escorted to our seats by a very jovial hostess. All the wait staff are "Merry Christmas!," "Enjoy!" and "Such a cute dog!" We order drinks, John orders a Pinot Grigio as this will pair well with the shrimp dish he has been coveting on the Hard Rock Cafe online menu.  We get our drinks and here come the menus! John is scouring for the shrimp dishes. NONE.  He then thinks he will order a salmon dish.  Denied.  I say, "we can leave and go somewhere else, no worries!" He wanted to make the best of it so he forges on and orders spicy fried chicken over waffles. Wait. What? There are only breakfast options or hamburgers.  OMG.  I got an omelet and a side of bacon to share with Marla.

Some time passes, the waitress says "Oh, we have this Pinot Grigio the bartender poured by mistake, do you want it? Merry Christmas!" So now John has two glasses of wine.  Here comes the food. Your heart would stop beating if you saw it.  The waffle was the size of a board game. The fried chicken came with a side of spicy hot sauce but the waitress also plopped down a carafe of syrup for the waffle.  My omelet had to be made from at least 5 eggs, a brick of cheese and a package of bacon.  It was massive.  It had to weigh 2 pounds. There was a smattering of home fries under a nest of peppers.  The side of bacon was at least 7 rashers deep.

I put my fork in the omelet and pulled it up, a string of melted cheese followed as I pulled the fork toward me.  SO MANY CALORIES.   We have not seen that many carbs and fat grams in front of us in years.  I figured this is what the chef put into my omelet:
