too petrified to enjoy this place

The Needles National Park near Rapid City really looks like this:

But, as we drove along the corkscrew road for miles and miles, the temperature was plummeting by each vertical foot we climbed with the car.  The road was wet from all the snow and the winds began to kick up.  By the time we scaled up to the eye of the needle, the temperature had dropped to 28 degrees meaning the moisture on the road would soon freeze and there are no guard rails on the crazy winding road to the top.  I just held the camera up and snapped.  I had no idea what I was taking pictures of.  We did go through 2 different tunnels that were only 8 feet wide. It was probably the scariest drive we've had yet.
