We hiked to the "Boy Scout" tree in Redwood forest today.  The ranger said it was a pretty easy 2.8 mile hike in and 2.8 mile hike out.  OMG  It was one of the hardest hikes we've ever done! By the time we got to the Boy Scout (B.S.) tree we were exhausted! This tree is a stunning width of 23 feet.  The path up to this tree was straight up, ugh, but on the way back down I did my usual maneuver whereby I scoot down on my butt = ) As Cass would say "there's no shame in my game..."  The trees were truly magnificent!

We recorded this video  for our buddy Patrick in Wilmington.

Enjoyed talking to you on the hike today, good luck with your travels. If you ever come back to Portland, venture out of downtown, its actually quite a nice city (when it's not so smoky).
