oh dear

This lady came for consultation with vascular surgery for non healing wounds on her feet. She has already been to wound care for months, seen a holistic medicine team and her primary care team for these. The surgeon takes one look at her shoes. They are like cement blocks with no give. He says “how long have you had these shoes? “ She says “oh about six months”. He says these are really stiff and they look like they have been rubbing your feet raw in those spots. Just stop wearing them and come back and see me in three months. She hugs him. Nobody ever told me that before!!
