At the base of Devil's Tower, Wyoming is a magical and protected land called Prairie Dog town. The road leading up to the top of Devil's tower goes right through this happy little land, essentially dividing it into north and south towns. There are thousands of happy little creatures popping up and down and scampering after each other. One can almost hear them laughing and squealing with delight over their boroughs. John stops the car and steps out to snap some pictures of these hilarious little scamps. I see over my shoulder an incredibly fast moving coyote on the hunt for prairie dogs in the north town! I screech out my window to John, "LOOK! A Coyote out the other side! OH NO!!!!! It's MARLA! " John left his door open and Marla was going bananas running and diving after the little prairie dogs! She was going at top speed and had no intentions of stopping! The northern prairie dog town is about 5 acres and she was going to chase every last little doggie in all of them! The southern prairie dogs were screeching "get out! get out! DOG!" in their little critter voices and the combined screeching of thousands of them sounded like a riot was happening! We were certain we were going to face a stiff fine or jail for her behavior! Marla!
