Leaf peeping and praying

After leaving Winter Island in Salem, MA we decided to drive around New Hampshire and Vermont to get some leaf peeping in.  It was a brilliant day of sunshine and color and New England did not disappoint! While relocating the RV at our very gracious host and hostess, Ron and Deb's house in Saugus,  we had to follow a road construction detour in Beverly, MA.  Turns out, the folks who plotted the detour's course must have figured if the detour road was big enough for a Fiat, it was good to go.  How John got that RV through that road without destroying all the cars parked on both sides is a miracle.  There was literally, 1/4 inch on both sides of the RV before he would make contact with other vehicles.  The exhaust on the back of the RV began to morph into a can opener, ready to rip open wheel wells and side panels with reckless abandon, had John not been so skilled and calm at the wheel.  I am not a religious person, but did  find my self making the sign of the cross once we made it through unscathed.  This is not our RV, but one gets a sense of the potential destruction the RV could have caused due to this ridiculous and completely inappropriate detour.
