coonerdish anyone?

We made it to Jilbert's Dairy to see what the big deal is about these cheese curds.  Essentially, they are rubber cheese pieces.  We passed on those.  But, were intrigued with all the ice cream flavor choices at the dairy bar section.  I asked for the Mackinac Island fudge and the counter associate (CA) said to me:

CA: "Coonerdish?"
Me: "Coonerdish?"
CA: "Coonerdish?"
Me: "Corner dish?"
CA" "Coonerdish?"
Me: "I'm sorry, are you asking me if I want a corner dish? I don't know what those are."
CA: "Coone  or   dish?"
Me: "OH! CONE OR DISH! I'll have a dish!"
