Bear creek park jail break

Ms. Piper the dog has been chewing all the harnesses and leashes we have for her.  One our walk, she was wearing her  fourth harness that has been repaired once already and had hooked her to a lead that had a knot  in it holding it together.  Walking along the deserted trail, suddenly I felt no resistance in her lead.  I look over and sure enough, the knot was untied.  No biggie I thought, she's always hung out with Marla and I on walks anyway, leash or no leash.  However, this time a person on a mountain bike was zooming along and whipped past us. This caused scaredy cat Piper to freeze in her tracks and start trembling with fear.

After the bike rider was about 1/4 mile down the path, she decided to run like blazes back to the RV.   I called her and called her.  She kept going faster and faster and further and further from us.  Marla and I ran after her.  I think she thought "oh cool, we are all running home!" which was not the case ha ha.  I stopped calling her as I could see at this point it was futile.  I decided to try reverse psychology on her.  I stopped running after her, as did Marla.  We turned around and started walking the other way.  She realized she was alone.  That did the trick! She came back the opposite direction and walked the rest of the way with us back to the RV.
